staying awake to chase a dream

Hi there. I'm just a regular girl with a hint of weirdness. My things: Glee, Muse, Buffy, Bones, 60's music, horror movies... and just about everything. You may also find me here:

There’s this turning point near my home, it has had a stop sign since a while ago, but drivers ignore it many times. It was put there probably, because a girl was hit by a truck at that very same spot. She lost her other leg. Drivers can’t see pedestrians and pedestrians can’t see the cars, because there’s a shit load of bushes on the side, stopping them from seeing each other.
I had a car accident at the same turning point too. I was riding my bike through the crosswalk, strictly following the traffic rules, because the pavement continued after the crosswalk, so it’s legal to ride my bike there. A car came and I saw it before it hit me, apparently I have quick reflects;  I jumped off my bike. The car hit the bike and the bike hit my leg. The leg was sore for a day or two, but fine after that. I don’t know what would’ve happened, if I had stayed on the bike. Worse, I guess.
On second thought, I wasn’t following the traffic rules that well. I wasn’t biking on the crosswalk, but an inch or two more far away. If I had been biking on the crosswalk… I don’t know, I might not be telling this story right now. Especially, because I wasn’t wearing a helmet (I’m aware, that I’m stupid).
My bike broke then. After the incident, I just kept biking home. The driver shouted Are you hurt? and I was like No!. Yeah, right. I lied. I was in shock, I wasn’t thinking straight. All I could think about was I want to go home.
My point here? THE STOP SIGN IS THERE FOR A REASON AND DRIVERS SHOULD FOLLOW THE RULES, OR NEXT TIME IT WON’T BE ME HURTING MY LEG, OR ANOTHER GIRL LOOSING HERS, IT COULD BE SOMEONE LOOSING THEIR LIVES.
(sorry for any typos, the picture is not mine, found it on google)
